Vika Begalska included in the list of the Best Russian contemporary artists (Art Index). Victoria Begalska was born in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukrainian SSR. After graduating from the Kharkov State Academy of Design and Arts, she continued her artistic career in Kharkov, in the circle of artists working with photography - B. Mikhailova and S. Bratkov. In 2000 she moved to Moscow, since then, primarily associated with the Russian art scene, actively cooperating with the Ukrainian and international. Begalskaya's early artistic practices are primarily related to video. Since 2004, she has been working primarily in the technique of painting, where, in addition to reproducing aggressive female imagery, inheriting her projects in other media, the artist began to experiment with solving formal, purely painterly tasks. Since 2015 she has been working in collaboration with Alexander Vilkin.
