Located in the historic center of St. Petersburg, the gallery has become one of the cultural centers visited by Petersburgers and guests of the "Northern capital". Dmitry Kustanovich has gone down in history as the founder of a new painting style – spatial realism, as an artist who "escaped beyond the limited plane." Spatial realism is the painting style of Dmitry Kustanovich, in which the space depicted within the same plane and within a realistic method acquires a three-dimensional effect and dynamism through the expressive means of painting. Kustanovich's paintings are distinguished by originality, recognition and high technical level of performance. The artist's works call out to a wide range of themes, story lines and motifs and seek to find the true depth and symbolic sound of the image. "Spiritual meanings of culture are expressed in Kustanovich's works. The key ideas that are put in the author's works have a deep connection with Russian traditional artistic worldview and Russian religious philosophy. Connection with tradition at the substantial level and the creation of the form where it can exist in the present-day reality are the features of the author's method of the artist and constitute the essential novelty of his style and one of its main features" (Art Expert M.Stolz).
