About

Anastasiya Kuznetsova-Ruf included in the list of the Best Russian contemporary artists (ARTEEX). Graduated from the Institute of Contemporary Art (2003) and Moscow State Academic Art Institute named by V. I. Surikov (2007). Anastasiya works in the monochrome painting technique using tempera and charcoal pencil. "The most interesting thing for me is to find the signs of eternity in everyday life. If the artist can teach his eye to see ordinary objects in a new context or from a different angle, the usual objects can turn into graphic aphorisms. And I like to use minimal artistic means (I almost always work with only one charcoal) to create new forms and spaces with the maximum sense of reality of what is happening. All my work is an honest drawing, which is called "academic", but serves new images and ideas. I like the interaction of the soft velvet texture of the body or object, which is typed for a long time with the help of shading with a charcoal pencil and a smooth surface of the background, written in tempera and turning into an infinite space of light. The result is miserly at first glance, turns complex technology, monochromatic painting. This artistic technique is very well suited to the creative tasks that I set for myself. The result is a picture with several surfaces of drawing and meaning. In my work, the idea inherent in the work of art is very important to me, and for me it is very valuable that the viewer, when interacting with my works, finds in them a second or third meaning, close and understandable to him personally. Even if the viewer's reading differs from my original idea , it is interesting for me, because in this relationship of ideas and perceptions I see a manifestation of the miracle of art." Since 1996 more than 80 exhibitions with participation of the artist in Russia and abroad took place. Cooperates with galleries AGARDH & TORNVALL (Stockholm, Sweden), Happy Art Museum (Riga, Latvia), La Galerie ART XXI (Geneva, Switzerland), Fine Art (Moscow).
