Mamyshev-Monroe Vladislav

1969 — 2013

About

Vladislav Mamyshev-Monro included in the list of the Best Russian contemporary artists (ARTEEX). Vladislav Mamyshev-Monro — the icon of art+fashion style, a famous master in transformation and reincarnation. He was the only artist in Russia who was able to convert himself into a masterpiece with the help of clothes and accessories (including make-up, the sense of style and talent) (trust.ua). During his famous performances, Vladislav often transformed himself into famous people, and these images are well recognized .The variety of his images is quite wide, but most often the artist chose his vision of Merylin Monro, whose name became his second one. Images, restored to life by conscious of Monro-the artist, have a hypnotic influence on a philistine. They appeal to something unconscious, absorbed with mother’s milk during light years of soviet well-being. Porcelain Lubov Orlova – eternal in her resilient screen run. Caricature Hitler – a hysteric half-drunk freak. Red haired and an easy-going woman who sings, – Alla Pugacheva … (E.Mishin). His exceptional talent has made Vladislav an iconic figure of art-stage of 1980-90-s; he has become a classic of the Russian Art, ironic and unique in his kind. The famous artist Vladislav Mamyshev-Monro tragically died on Bali on the 16th of March in 2013, he was 43 years old. Source of the photo: RIA News / Kirill Kalinnikov
