About
Dmitry Shorin included in the list of the Best Russian contemporary artists (ARTEEX). In the works of D.Shorin there is a celebration of being filled with joy and desire, sharply seasoned with irony and self-irony. On his canvases, the artist creates a sensual, emotional environment, populated by people who experience spiritual delight, an elevated, joyful expectation or, on the contrary, peace and freedom from work and care, when time seems frozen, stopped. The joys of life, depicted by the artist, are close to each of us. These are the caresses of lovers, these are girls, they and reality - such can be seen on the street or in the neighborhood, and the dream, “golden dream”, this is a sea wave, clouds, blue sky, a new car, ... airplanes. Artist's canvases are bright, spectacular, at first glance it is wanted to exclaim - how beautiful! However, although the artist’s visualization method is a picture, a simple and understandable form of dialogue with the audience, its aesthetics, plastic language, characters of his heroes carry intrigue, questions and questions. Their simplicity, expressed in genre plots, is an apparent, artist's gesture, veiling the seriousness of his conceptual intentions. The sources of Shorin's images are often characters from glossy magazines or networks, which he shamelessly uses, stripping off glamor and moving them into everyday relationships and situations. Dmitry Shorin is an interesting reality of contemporary art, it is distinguished by its own plastic language, individual style (I. Filatova). Dmitry Alexandrovich SHORIN, born in 1971 in Novosibirsk.
